Samak Jeera rice recipe is simple and boiled rice recipe made with samak rice, salt and ghee. Its served and made during navratri periods.
Wash and soak barnyard millet in water for 15-20 minutes. Drain the water and keep aside.
Take a non-stick pan and add ghee. Add cumin seeds and saute till to splutter.
Add barnyard millet and roast in ghee just for 1 minute. Add 3 cups of water and rock salt and mix well.
Cover and cook for 10 minutes on medium flame till to cooked.
Add lemon juice and coriander leaves for garnishing and mix well.
Remove from the flame and serve hot samak jeera rice as side dish.
