Apple Fritters with Chocolate Sauce

Apple fritters can be served as a dessert or
as a finger snacks with chocolate syrup as a great combo. It is easy to make
and need few ingredients for this recipe. Even you can prepare fritters with
other seasonal fruits like green apple, pineapple, bananas, and pears.

For apple fritters, you have to dip the apple
slices in a batter and deep fried till to golden crisp and serve with chocolate
syrup. Serve immediately after preparation. If you are egg eater, then you can
whisk the egg into batter for tastier snacks but it’s an eggless recipe. Even you
can serve this crisp golden fritters with vanilla ice-cream or chilled custard

This is my second visit to Barcelos, Khan Market and I was invited for a
tasting session of White Burger. After trying Salad and Sangria, it was time
for the white burger. Regularly brown burger is available in market, but they come
in black, red, white color burgers without any artificial colors and

served completely authentic Afro- Portuguese cuisine in Delhi. Rohit
Malhotra, GM Operations, Barcelos Said, “Barcelos had not used any artificial
color and preservatives to darken the bun but the herbs, natural and organic
ingredients used in it to make colorful and healthy buns”.

Now Barcelos
introduces White Burger for foodies. Always give preference to customer’s taste
and healthy meal. If you’re wondering, that the black, red and
white burgers only differ in their color, you’re wrong. The taste is very
different as the black burger is made with spinach extract, roasted wheat and
herb to the dough, the white with coconut, plain flour and milk powder, the red
with tomato powder, chili flakes and beetroot. I wanted to try all the flavors.
burger is made with milk powder, coconut powder to the dough in a baked bun on
low temperature for longer time to achieve the color and flavors. The white
burgers are available for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian lovers for Rs.175
and Rs.215. This
slightly sweet bread provides the fresh bun for the delicious burger. The
patties inside are innovative too.
The non-vegetarian one consists
on a slab of grilled chicken. But I tried vegetarian one that I love most. It’s
not a deep fried regular one, its pan fried patty. So instead of crispy, the
patty is soft which made with ricotta cheese, capsicum and slice of orange,
completely healthy meal compare to regular junk food. It had a unique and
amazing taste from the other burgers I have tried. Even you can choose the
level of spice variants in your peri peri sauce like supa peri, veri peri, mild
peri and tangy lemon.
Barcelos also introduce a platter
of mini burgers with all four variants (white, black, red and brown) in one
order… full on with flavors and colors.
Great staff,
awesome service and decent muic and nice ambience, gives happiness.
Waiting for more
offering in coming months, Keep up the good work!!

Barcelos Celebrates ‘Salads & Sangria’ Festival

After huge success in introducing
Black and Red color Burgers, Barcelos is back with another concept for those
who love drinks and healthy appetizers. To thrill
its customers, this time Barcelos is introducing India’s first Sangria Bar. With
the launch of multi variety Sangria, Barcelos is celebrating ‘Salads &
Sangria’ festival.
the first time in world, Barcelos is going to introduce maximum 21 varieties of
Sangria at its Khan Market located restaurant. Luckily I got an invite from Barcelos
to taste the classic sangrias and salad.
Sangria is a typical beverage from Spain and Portugal. It normally consists of wine, chopped fruit, a
sweetener, and a small amount of added brandy. Chopped fruit can include orange, lemon, lime, apple,
peach, melon, berries, pineapple, grape, kiwifruit and mango. A sweetener such
as honey, sugar, syrup, or orange juice is added. Instead of brandy, other
liquids such as Seltzer, Sprite or 7
Up may be added. Sangria is steeped while chilled for as little as minutes or up to a few
days.At Barcelos,
Sangrias made with fresh chopped fruits and white and red wines.
First time I tried alcoholic Sangrias at Barcelos
which include White Lemongrass Sangria,
Watermelon & Apple Sangria, Mango & Chili Sangria with Basil, Peach
Sangria, Ginger & Clove Sangria, Pomegranate & Rosemary Sangria,
and Cucumber Sangria.
Love the flavors and smell of wine,
personally I fall in love with Cucumber and Lemon Sangria with white wine and
secondly Watermelon and Apple Sangria. They used high quality of wine for
sangria were accompanied with healthy salads. The sangrias are available for
Rs. 255 per glass.
I tried Capris
which made with fresh green and red lettuce, caramelized roasted nuts
(almonds and walnuts), grilled tomatoes and zucchini with pesto sauce and sweet
onion dip… love the taste of onion dip and nice texture… creamy. The portions
were good and love the whole platter…. very impressive.
The other salads which are available at
Barcelos, Pear & Chicken Salad
with Peri Peri Dip, Fattoush Salad
and Grilled Orange & Watermelon Salad
which made with orange, pears, watermelon, melon seeds and roasted nuts. Love the
combination of Sangrias and healthy salads…. love the colors and flavors…. fresh
and aromatic.
For this festival, Barcelos is offering combo
of one salad and one sangria priced at Rs 375.
About Barcelos: With
a single operation founded in Pretoria, South Africa in 1993, Barcelos has
grown exponentially which led it to start franchising in 1998. It has been
expanding continuously and became a household name the world over ever since.

Review for Bottoms Up… Gastropub @ Punjabi Bagh, Delhi

Every foodie loves good drink, good food
and good entertainment, to get these entire things at one place… Bottoms Up is perfect gastropub located
on club road, Punjabi Bagh.

Everyone is welcomed and will find their
peace either in the fine dining area on the ground floor or the bar-lounge area
on the second floor. Love the seating arrangement in the balcony.
The ambiance of restro is groovy and
peppy, fit for youngster’s mood and taste. I was attended by Mr. Harsher and
shared whole delicacies with him. Even bottom ups offering nutritious and
healthy food includes air fryer dishes, baked & tandoori dishes for health
conscious people.
The interior look like raw warehouse have
old fashioned barrels, hand painted walls and Edison light bulbs. Not too
bright and not dark just right balance. … Just like go there, seat and relax,
chill out with nice and peppy music… chit chaat with friends and enjoy
fantastic food.
They are offering quite unique and
interesting menu options for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. I tried few
mocktails like Orange and Date Mojito and Kiwi Lemonade.
Herbed Guava
is fresh
and little spicy mocktail which taste like a spicy guava chaat and best option
for non-alcoholic drinkers. You can get many more flavors if you are also non-alcoholic
person like me.
The Chakhna
is a great innovation which served in tea glasses, good accompanied
with your cocktails and mocktails. These are common chat like channa jor garam,
spicy corn masala and toasted peanuts masala but love the whole idea like how
to present…specially the flavors which make them different from the regular

The Tandoori
Pineapple Kimchi with Toasted Peanuts Salad in Kadak Roomali
is just like
dream dish. I tried roomali roti with gravies or in wraps form. But this
platter is completely unique and impressive too. Love the texture of crisp
roomali in basket style and filled with tandoori pineapple, sprouts and toasted
peanuts and more.
Two must recommend dish are Bunny Chow (fill your bunny with choice
of curry) and Thin Crust Turkish Pizza.
I love the concept of thin crust and topped with smoked tomatoes, mushrooms and
hung yogurt instead of cheese, completely healthier option for your
tastebuds…..creamy and crunchy.
Now time to reveal something in sweet,
the experience was good with Bitter chocolate Rum and Raisin
.  It was look pretty in plate
as well in taste. The sauce on the plate was giving it an edge.
Lite bite foods, one of the fastest
