Instant Chocolate Peda

Chocolate Peda is a recipe which made with
cocoa, milk solids and almonds. This time I tried some instant version in which
we used Marie digestive biscuits and knead dough by using milk with other dry
ingredients. It’s a healthy and simple recipe which you can prepare anytime
within 5-10 minutes. It’s no oil and no cooking recipe. For this recipe I used
almond powder for nutty flavour but you can replace the almond with walnut or
cashews powder whatever you like or available.

1/2 Cup Milk Powder
1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder, Unsweetened
1/4 Cup Almond Powder
2 Tbsp. Sugar Powder
1 Tsp. Cardamom Powder
3-4 Tbsp. Boiled Milk, for dough
Combine all ingredients together in large and
make soft dough. Grease your hands with butter or desi ghee, divide the dough
into equal portions and roll into round peda form. Garnish with almond halves.
Notes: You can replace the almonds with pistachios or cashews or walnuts, whatever you like.

Dal Pakwan- Sindhi Cuisine

Dal Pakwan
is very popular recipe of Sindhi cuisine which serves as breakfast or brunch
meal, in this recipe spicy chana dal or Bengal dal curry served with crisp
puris. For this dal pakwan, you have to prepare whole menu into two parts one
is pakwan and second is spicy chana dal and accompaniments with green chutney,
crisp fried green chilies, and raw chopped onions which makes this platter more
tempting and tasty. You can use imli chutney also for sweetness.

For Pakwan
1 Cup All
Purpose Flour/ Maida
2 Tbsp. Wheat
Flour/ Aatta
1 Tbsp. Semolina
3 Tbsp. Ghee
Salt to
Water for
Oil for deep
For Dal
1 1/2 Cup Split
Bengal Gram/ Chana Dal
Salt to
1 Tsp. Turmeric
For Tempering
1/2 Tsp. Amchoor
powder/ Raw Mango Powder
1/2 Tsp. Garam
1 Tsp. Red
Chili Powder
1 Tsp. Cumin
For Garnishing
Onion Slices
Fried Green
Chilies, Roughly Chopped
Green Coriander
Fresh Green
Coriander, chopped

For Pakwan
Sieve the
flour and semolina in large bowl, add ghee and salt and mix it with fingertips.
Add enough water to knead semi soft dough.
Divide the
dough into equal 8-10 portions. Roll each ball into chapati of four inch
diameter. Prick lightly with the help of fork. 
Heat the sufficient
oil in wok for deep frying. Fry the each pakwan on low heat till to golden and
crisp. Remove the fried and crisp pakwan on tissue paper to absorb extra oil
and keep aside.
For Dal
Soak the dal
for 2 hours. Boil the dal with salt, turmeric powder and 3 cups of water in
pressure cooker till to 2 whistles.
Take Tadka
pan, add ghee and add cumin seeds.  When
they start splutter, add garam masala, red chili powder and raw mango powder. Add
the tadka or tempering over the dal.
Garnish with
onion slices, fried green chilies and green coriander chutney. Serve this dal
with crisp pakwan.
Notes: Dal should be cook, not overcook.
Each grain should visible in curry.
For fried
green chilies, just take 4-5 green chilies and chop roughly and fried them into
making green chutney, you can add imli pulp too for tangy flavour.

Orange Iced Tea

I have some fresh orange at home and want to taste
something chilled, so I tried orange iced tea and shared this recipe with my
readers. Look tasty and refreshing and its sunshine color attracts you anytime.
You can prepare this drink anytime in summer season for you and your love ones.
Zest is a food ingredient that is prepared by scraping or cutting from the
outer, colorful skin of unwaxed citrus fruits such as lemon, orange, citron,
and lime. Zest is used to add flavor to foods.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes

2 Cup Fresh Orange Juice
2 Tsp Fresh Lemon Juice
4 Tsp. Tea
1 Tsp. Cinnamon Powder
5 Tsp. Sugar/ Honey or as taste
4 Cup Water
Few Orange Wedges for garnishing
Ice Cubes
Boil the water on medium heat in pot. Add tea, cinnamon,
orange zest and sugar until dissolved. Remove the pot from the heat and cool to
room temperature for 1 hour.
Take a pitcher, add fill half with tea mixture (discarding
solids) and half with orange juice and lemon juice. Put lots of ice-cubes and orange
wedges. Serve chilled.
Note: Don’t be over boil the tea; it’s become bitter in taste.
You can replace sugar with brown sugar or honey as sweet you like.

Review on Dunkin’ Donuts @ CP, New Delhi

& gorgin & more. Generally People thoughts Dunkin Donuts means donuts and coffee. Now Dunkin’ Donuts comes with new menus and renovation of complete outlet.

On 9 Dec 2014, Dunkin Donuts takes a step forward and arrange the relaunch event @ Connaught place, New Delhi. I already visited DD with my friends for especially donuts but now they offer more than coffee, donuts and sandwiches. Now DD adds burgers, wraps and more variation in beverages and donuts which are the highlights of this launch. The agenda behind this relaunch to aware the foodie with new flavors and variations. As per my opinion, it’s a budget friendly place where you can spend the good time with love ones in affordable prices.

On that day, i get the chance to meet Mr. Dev and DD Chef Peter and Chef Felick, all did really fantastic work on makeover. After met with each other, we were tried lots of eatables and beverages with other foodies who also invited.

First we were tried espresso shot, it’s quite strong and one of the best coffee beans was used. After that Stirr Accino, its look really attractive in tall glass in three color layer of coffee and if you want to sip that you have to stir continuously.

Jamaican Rum Almond is creamy texture drink with flavor of Jamaican rum and almonds. Jamaican rum is not alcohol, just flavor of rum.

In DD, they offer iced tea with three variations i.e. classic lemon, green tea and spiked tea. Spiked Iced tea is fused with some Indian spices includes cloves, cinnamon, black peppers, star anise and nutmeg and serves with lemon wedges and lots of ices. Personally i like green iced tea with perfect flavors and sweetness.

Now time to taste some eatables, first we tried wraps; those are so spicy in taste called wicked wraps available in veg and non-veg both. I tried veg one which prepared with multigrain wrap, baked kasoori paneer, raw mango relish, jalapenos’ and chipotle sauce. Raw mango relish is awesome in taste.

After that some burgers were served, first we tried Naughty Lucy burger which made with molten cheese filled with veg patty and collab with chipotle sauce, jalapeno and raw mango relish. 

Second one is Brute Tough Guy Burger Veg made with kidney bean based patty, harissa sauce and chili mayo. 

Now time to taste some sweets which are the specialty of DD, we tried 6 variations in donuts that’s breakup party éclair, it’s
a mistake, ugly strawberry, no more blue, stuck on you and death by chocolate.
Personally i love death by chocolate and its mistake donuts both. It’s a
mistake donut made with white chocolate, guava and chili flakes.

It was completely good experience with Dunkin Donuts and get the chance to meet with other foodies. We had taken loads of pictures on that day. In the end we get mojo kit and want to say big thanks to DD team for invited me.

Tea is essential part of our day to day lives which refresh us or work as stress buster. Regularly, I prepared my tea with flavor of cardamom, holy basil leaves and crushed ginger at home. 
One more time paper boat brand connect with  for new launched range of paper boat’s iced tea in flavor of tulsi and ginger- lemon. It contains flavors and antioxidants, which boost up our immunity power.

These flavors are good for health and reduce the stress. Personally I’m Iced tea lover but I love the packaging, shake and sip style which attracts me a lot. Now come to flavors of these teas. 
Ginger Lemon Tea is quite good in flavor of ginger and lemons, mild flavor of tea, average taste of sweetness. If you want to serve this drink in front of guest, just shake the pack and pour in tall glass and serve with fresh lemon wedges and lots of ice cubes. Overall Average response  
Tulsi Iced Tea is really good and healthy in taste, lovely flavor of tulsi, perfect sweetness, again mild taste of tea. If you want to serve tulsi flavor tea, just shake and pour into glass and serve with lots of ice cubes and straw. Overall refreshing and good in taste.
Recommendation: Personally I vote for Tulsi Iced tea.  
Price: These drinks are easy to get in any departmental store at affordable price, you have to pay just 30rs for 250ml pack.

Wheat Germ Kheer | Wheat Germ Payasam- Eat Well Live Well

Few Days back, I got a mail through Ritu who
shared two packs of Harmony original toasted wheat germ, each of 250 grams with
me. Today I shared some nutrition value of wheat germ and one recipe delicious
traditional Indian Dessert “Kheer” with my readers.  The term Germ in wheat germ often gives an
impression of bacteria but here germ stands for germination. Wheat germ in
hindi will be गेहूँ का अंकुर.
Wheat germ is the part of wheat that sprouts
and grows into a new plant. Wheat germ is a nutritious super food, rich in
vitamins, minerals, protein enzymes, and much more that the body needs to grow
and stay healthy. Wheat germ has more nutrients per gram than any other
vegetable or grain. Wheat germ contains complex carbohydrates, protein, fibre,
omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E & A, B9, B1, Biotin, Calcium, iron,

3 1/2 Cup Full Cream Milk
2 Tbsp. Vanilla Flavoured Custard Powder
2/3 Cup Harmony Toasted Wheat Germ
1/2 Cup Sugar or as per taste
1/4 Cup Chopped Nuts (Pistachios, Cashews, and
3-4 Cardamom Pods
Pinch of Saffron strands
Mix the custard powder with ½ Cup of cold
milk and keep aside.
Boil 3 Cups of milk in deep bottom pan. When milk
starts boiling, add custard powder and mix mixture into pan and stir continuously.
Add chopped nuts, cardamom powder and wheat
germ and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes until to combine everything.
Add sugar as per taste and saffron strands
and mix well. Remove from the flame and serve hot or chilled.

Soya Cutlets | Soya Pattices

Soya chunk cutlets are rich in proteins and
very healthy starters which are good option for ongoing monsoon season. For this
recipe, you have to just combine the soya chunks with mashed potatoes, onion
and spices to form patties. It’s a prefect snack for parties and picnics. You can
replace the potatoes with cottage cheese or paneer. 

Preparation time:
20 Minutes
Time: 15 Minutes
Servings: 4
1 Cup Soya Chunks, Cooked
2 Medium Sized Potatoes, Boiled and Mashed
1 Large Onion, Chopped
1 Tbsp. Green Coriander Leaves
2 Green Chili, Finely Chopped
1 Tsp. Ginger Paste
2 Tbsp. Cornflour
1 Cup Bread Crumbs
Salt to Taste
Red Chili Powder to Taste
1 Tsp. Cumin Seeds
1 Tsp. Coriander Powder
1 Tsp. Lemon Juice
Oil for Shallow Frying
Boil the soya
chunks in a sauce pan with enough water for 15 minutes till to double size. Squeeze
out the excess water with the help of hands and keep aside. 
Add these chunks in
mixer and grind them till to coarse crumbs.
Heat the 1 tsp. oil
in separate pan and add cumin seeds. 
When they start splutter, add chopped
green chilies, ginger paste and sauté for 1 minute. 
Add chopped onion and add coriander
powder, chili powder and mix well.
Add the onion
masala and mashed potatoes with coarse chunks. 
Add salt, cornflour, lemon juice
and green coriander leaves and mix well. 
Divide the mixture into equal portions
and form into round pattices.  
Toss the
pattices one by one into bread crumbs and keep aside.
Heat the enough
oil in non-stick pan and place the pattices and shallow fry the each pattice on
both sides till to crisp and golden. 
Serve hot soya pattice or cutlets with
ketchup or green coriander dip.
You can add some season veggies also like
green peas, beetroot, and capsicum.
If you are calorie conscious, you can replace
potatoes with paneer or cottage cheese.

Rava Onion Uttapam | Instant Rava Uttapam Recipe

Rava Uttapam is one of mine favorite breakfast
recipe. Whenever I feel hungry, I made this instant rava uttapam with some
veggies or onions. For instant version, you have to just combine curd and rava together
with salt and eno to prepare crisp and small uttapam within 5 minutes. You have
to prepare the consistency of batter just like idli batter. I added small
quantity of carrot also just for giving nice and colourful texture, it’s
completely optional.

Time: 10 Minutes
Servings: 2
South Indian Cuisine
1/2 Cup Rava/ Semolina
1/2 Cup Yogurt
Salt to taste
1/2 Tsp. Eno (Fruit Salt)
2 Green Chilies, finely chopped
2 Medium Onions, finely chopped
2 Tbsp. Carrot, finely chopped (optional)
Butter for shallow fry

Peel and finely chop the onions and carrots. Combine
rava, yogurt, green chili and salt together in large bowl. Add eno at the time
of making uttapam.

Pour the 1 ladle full of batter in hot
greased non-stick pan.

Sprinkle the chopped onion and carrot on the
top of batter.

Drizzle the butter and cook on medium flame.
Flip the uttapam and cook again for 2 minutes
until to both sides get golden brown and crisp.
Serve hot onion uttapam with coconut chuntey.
